So let’s talk fitness!…I’ve been super active my entire life. I was in dance, gymnastics and/or cheerleading since I could walk. I was always a smaller girl so I never worried about my weight until after high school. After high school my weight would fluctuate between 10-15 pounds every six or so months. I always ate pretty healthy but I could never get my exercise schedule figured out. So about a year ago I was looking for a lifestyle change because I wanted to get my fitness under control! I didn’t want some crazy diet or have to work out like a mad woman 3 times a day. I wanted to make health and fitness a part of my life forever and love doing it at the same time!
Sooo…I started following personal trainer, Kayla Itsines on Instagram (kayla_itsines) about a year ago and was seriously amazed by her clients transformation photos. After a couple months of seeing these photos, I bought her 12 Week Bikini Body Guide for myself. I wish I could say 12 weeks later my body was bangin’ buuuuuut the truth is, I would do a couple weeks of the guide then stop for a week then start over again and stop…I re-started this guide a good 5 times you guys! And it wasn’t because the guide was too hard or not good, it was simply because I wasn’t motivated enough, lazy & just made up excuses! Due to my lack of consistency, I was not seeing results. One day I was just over it, I was over not feeling strong & healthy. So I made a decision to put down the fork at night (7pm to be exact) and wake up and get my butt to the gym every single morning, NO excuses. After I pushed myself and started doing the guide 6 days a week for about 4 weeks, I was shocked with how much better I felt on the inside and on the outside! After 4 weeks I was hooked, so hooked that I started Kayla’s Bikini Body Guide 2.0 which is an extension of her first guide. This guide transformed my thoughts about body image, health and fitness training. I wake up and actually look forward to going to the gym now! It is no longer something I have to make time for or struggle to do, it is a part of my everyday life, its like brushing my teeth! For me, it’s not so much about having a six pack or buns of steal. It’s about how I FEEL on the inside. Getting in a good sweat everyday & eating healthy – there is honestly no better feeling than knowing you’re doing your mind and body good! ☺
Anyways, I know this is pretty long but I hope this helps anyone who is looking for a little bit of motivation. I will continue doing work out posts and go into more specifics…Please know I am no expert and I still have a long way to go for myself but I wanted to give you an idea of what got me motivated and is working for me! The biggest thing is to stay motivated and consistent. Results don’t come after 3 work outs…which is why I love this work out program because it gives you a step by step guide to get you to your goals and helps you stay on track! And it’s seriously enjoyable (believe it or not)
